Functional Pottery:  In this modern paced world, where everything is mass produced, I love the idea of making functional pottery that has some soul. I try to incorporate in my work that the piece has been made by hand. I intentionally leave my finger prints or allow my throwing lines  to be seen also enjoy adding hand carved detail to give texture and to remind the user that this is a piece of pottery made by loving hands.

As a nation with centuries of textile tradition, India has leveraged the expertise of her contemporary artisans to create fabulously modern work on their looms and in their workshops. Yearly trips to India yield wondrous woven scarves in natural fibres. Connecting eastern craft with appreciative western audiences is what I seek as I collect these scarves, this wearable art — textiles that beg you to touch, to marvel at their construction and sigh at their beauty.

Each day of the show a silent auction will be held. All of the items are kindly donated by our vendors. The auctions generally begin around 10:30 and finish at 2:30.


This year proceeds from Fair December will go to Cawthra Park School Council, QE School Council and Peel Children's Centre. Over the past 13 years Fair December has donated $9,117 to The Compass Food Bank, has donated $4,000 to Peel Children's Centre, has raised over $25,000 for Princess Margaret Weekend To End Cancer and over $31,000 for QE School Council and $24,000 for Cawthra Park School Council.


Enjoy fresh baked goodness from many of our awesome vendors. QE School Council will be serving hot & cold food and beverages both days out of the Fair December Cafeteria.

Proceeds from Fair December will directly impact the lives of some of the most vulnerable children and youth in our community.
